Main|Options|Directories

This page of the Options dialog contains four sections controlling WinFlash's use of directories:

Source File Directory

This selection determines which directory initially appears in WinFlash's File|Open, File|New and File|SaveAs dialogs. You may specify a particular directory or simply have WinFlash remember the directory of the previously-used .FLU file.

Graphics Directory

This selection determines which directory the WinFlash editor's browser uses when browsing for graphics files. You may specify a particular directory or simply have WinFlash use the same directory as the .FLU file.  A reason to use a common graphics directory is that this allows you to use the same files with multiple .FLU files.  Conversely, it makes it more difficult to package your .FLU, .FLD and support files as a single unit to take with you to another machine should you need to.

Audio/Video Directory

This selection determines which directory the WinFlash editor's browser uses when browsing for audio/video files. You may specify a particular directory or simply have WinFlash use the same directory as the .FLU file.  A reason to use a common multi-media directory is that this allows you to use the same files with multiple .FLU files.  Conversely, it makes it more difficult to package your .FLU, .FLD and support files as a single unit to take with you to another machine should you need to.

Cheers & Jeers Directory *

This selection determines where WinFlash will look for Cheers & Jeers files. You may specify a particular directory or simply have WinFlash use the same directory as the .FLU file.  Using a common directory allows for using a single set of custom Cheers & Jeers for all of your study files.  On the other hand, if you want a custom set of C's and J's to go with EACH study file then create each study file in its own directory and add the C and J files you want to use with the study file to that file's directory. If there are no C&J files in the .FLU file's directory OR in the directory indicated as the C&J directory then the C&J files included with the application and stored in the C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared WinFlash Files\Cheers subdirectory will be used.

Text Editor/Graphics Editor

By browsing for and selecting the .exe file of your favorite text editor and graphics editor, WinFlash will use these programs for operations within the program requiring either type of editor.

* Scholar and Educator Only

Note: All directory paths can be entered by using the Browse buttons and "drilling down" to the directory that you want to enter.  After that directory is highlighted, click OK and the path will be entered into the associated edit box.
